Water District moved to Drought Stage II, Whitewater Springs remains at Stage IV

I hope everyone has recovered from the July Flooding. It seems that summer has now descended upon us in its usual way.

Some of you may have noticed that the CTGCD (water district) has reduced its drought stage to Stage II. This is due to the drought breaking rains we received in July. This is great news for the district and our aquifers. Hopefully this means they can catch up a bit from the previous dry years.

Whitewater Springs must remain at Stage IV however. This is due to our using more than 90% of our permitted amount year-to-date. Outdoor water use is restricted to only beneficial use (gardening).

I realize this may be frustrating to many of you. We’ve been working diligently with the district to get the permit issue resolved completely so that we can get back to the business of drilling wells and delivering water. As you can imagine, working with government entities is never fast.

I’ll update everyone once we get our permit increased. I am optimistic it will happen, it just takes time. If you have any questions please feel free to contact any board member directly.
