Registered letter from the WSWSC

Hi All,

I’ve received a few questions about this so I thought it would be helpful to provide more information.

As mentioned in my prior email the WSWSC is in the process of updating our water permit. This was triggered by the addition of Wells #4 and #5. Well #5 is complete and is located at the corner of Whitewater Drive and Edgewood Circle. Well #4 is in the planning stages and is at the corner of Murphy and Wagon Wheel.

Any property owner within 1/2 mile of the Well #4 site was required by the water district to have a notice sent to them. Furthermore, the WSWSC was required to prove to the water district the owner received the notice. Hence the registered mail notification you may have received in your mailbox. The notice gives all the pertinent information about the wells but is vague as to what actions a resident needs to take. If you live more than 1/2 mile from the Well #4 site (murphy and wagon wheel) then you were not mailed the notice.

The bottom line is no action is required on your part. This is just informing you of the new wells. If you want to attend the hearing (at CTGCD offices in Burnet) where the water district board considers the modification to our permit you are welcome to do so. Here is a link to permit announcements on their website 2024 Permit Notices – Central Texas Groundwater Conservation District (centraltexasgcd.org). The current meeting is set for Monday August 19, but we have reason to believe the meeting will be delayed to a later date. Pay attention to the site for a date when our permit is going to be discussed if you’d like to attend.

If any of this brings questions to your mind, please email me at gregg.thompson@wswsc.org.

Thanks.
