Two well projects are currently underway to expand the availability of water for new residents. Well #4 will be located on the NW corner of Wagon Wheel and Murphy Drives. Well #5 will be located to the SE of the corner of Whitewater Drive and Edgewood Circle.
Well #5 will be a single well that will pump water back to the main storage tank on Whitewater Drive. The well has been drilled and a pump test is underway. A project to install infrastructure for pumping and control will follow. We anticipate completing this project by year end.
Well #4 is a larger project. It is taking quite a bit longer due to its size and complexity as well as the challenges of working with the public loan we obtained for its funding. The site has been cleared and electricity has been run to it. The well has been drilled and is ready to be pump tested. We have our final design submitted to the TWDB for review. Completion of this project is likely 18 – 24 months out.
The Well #4 project will be used to separate the water sources for the lower loop and the upper loop. We no longer will be using the gravity feed from the Whitewater tank as the plant at Well #4 will have its own pressure tank. We will retain the ability to utilize gravity feed for emergencies.
